Tailoring

I have always been obsessed with tailoring and hand techniques. It is tailoring that sparked my initial fascination with fashion. My grandfather took me to a bespoke tailor's cutting room in San Francisco when I was 14. I was shown the behind-the-scenes of fashion design and was immediately hooked. In these sections are examples of my tailoring. The first is a hand dip-dyed jacked which was created using couture tailoring techniques. The second is a suit with deconstructed “reverse” pants with bias-bound seams. The third is a completely deconstructed and reconstructed suit. What fascinates me about tailoring it is that there are so many ways a suit can be deconstructed and reconstructed that fall outside of the traditional realm of tailoring.
